3D Class S2 Class 06 Organic Bust Project (High Resolution Modeling Stage)

This week we were tasked with creating a high poly sculpt based on a real life sculpture. I chose to recreate the Gambit bust that was created by Sideshow Collectibles.  I used this project as an opportunity to experiment more with polygroups and Zmodeler. Zmodeler and polygroups we're extremely helpful when creating the coat and face mask. I still have a bit more work to do on the sculpt but I'm pretty happy with the way it's turning out.

3D Class S2 Class 04 Finalizing The High Poly and UV's

So this week we were tasked with finalizing our high poly sculpts and finishing the UV's for our weapons.I also went ahead and baked my maps as well. I'm not exactly happy with the bakes and I'm going to have to do some trouble shooting to figure out why I'm getting faceting in certain areas of the crossbow. I may have decimated those parts of the crossbow a little too much, I suppose I'll figure that out over the next couple of days.

3D Class S2 Class 03 Hard Surface Modeling Project (High res Section)

So for this project we were tasked with create a gun using whichever methodology we prefer. I decided to start with the lower poly mesh using 3DS Max because I'm more familiar with it and could create the shapes I needed more quickly. I decided to model a concept of a Sci-Fi Crossbow created by Rock D because it seemed like it would be pretty fun to work on. I ran into a couple issues since there was no rendering of the crossbow from underneath but it wasn't too big of a deal. There's still a few more parts of the crossbow I need to finish but I'm pretty happy with the way this is shaping up. I'm really looking forward to doing a lot of the detail work now that I have it in Zbrush.

3D Class S2 Class 01 Modeling In Autodesk Fusion 360

This week we were tasked with creating a pocket knife in Fusion 360 and importing it into Zbrush. This is the first time that I've used Fusion 360 and I was surprised by how intuitive it was, sure it's another Autodesk software with a different navigation control scheme but it is an extremely useful bit of software. I'll definitely continue using Fusion 360 for future projects.
